Sydney – all about water…

On the way back to Australia we discovered a new feature in Qantas’ board entertainment system…the seat-to-seat chat. For sure we extensively used it and Iris convinced me, not to send any flirt messages randomly around the cabin as the system tells you the seat number of the sender

After getting started for our “adventure” with the Sydney bus system (if you ever have some spare time, I am happy to listen to whoever feels confident to explain it to me) we spent some time exploring The Rock (no movie, just the city area close to the Harbour Bridge) an it’s surroundings…

Enough for our first day…

Next day in Kings Cross (another part of Sydney) I found a new love and we discovered the nice but unimpressive neighbourhood of Elizabeth Bay.

What was left of the day, we spent in Manley – that means on a ferry, in a small suburb of Sydney, at a nice beach and in a very nice “Biergarten” for sunset

Half of the third day needed to be spent on shopping in Chinatown to have at least the girls travelling (yes, that mainly means Iris – well, in fact that means only Iris) adequately dressed for attending The Creation in the Sydney Opera.

Second half of the day, it was all about creatures in the sea…we visited the Aquarium – yes, that’s something for adults as well! Trust me, I was a bit sceptical first, but I got convinced

After yet another half day in Chinatown, to get the “right” shoes for the evening Opera outfit…not to mention, it was only for the girls outfit again But we’re finally set for the evening opera! Time for some more sightseeing outside in the sun…

And finally the grand event in Sydney: Our visit to the Opera!

Last day before heading once again to Melbourne was “beach day” – first we strolled across the Saturday market in Paddington and the visited Bondi beach.

Coming up next: Chasing Possums in Melbourne and Wombats in Wilsons Promotory!
